Good Evening Sharks, this is Principal Smith with your Weekly update! On Friday, Feb 24th, we had a spectacular event called “Ice Cream with a Cop” during Fiesta Friday! It was amazing to see our students and teachers thanks by the LA School Police, including Chief Zipperman, Deputy City Attorney Jackie Lawson, Director of Operations, Dr. Darneika Watson, and many other officers from the LA School Police! Entertainment for the event was provided by many of our talented music students performing music from a variety of generations! It was truly a great day and our students were so gracious, thanking the officers for their service!

I want to call your attention to concerns related to the traffic on Balboa Blvd and in the parking area/driveway in front of the school. It is all of our responsibility to look out for all of our students, so please slow down when in the parking area, allow student to cross in front of you while you are passing through the driveway, and please do not drop your students off at the curb on Balboa. I continue to strive to get the District and the City to do something about the dangers of the driveway(s) and congestion on Balboa. Please watch for students on foot, skateboards, and bikes as you are entering or exiting the driveways. Remember, we are the models for our children, they are watching us!

An Evite went out to families for the “Every Student Succeeds” event on March 7th. If you haven’t RSVP’d, please do so at http://evite.me/wuahEShj2t. Come see your student’s classes in action!
