Good Evening Sharks, this is Principal Smith with your weekly update. DPMHS wishes a Happy Passover to all of our families who celebrate Passover!

Our WASC visit went very well and I thank all of you for your participation and support. Welcome to Mr. Mike Hinson, our new plant manager! Stop by to meet him and welcome him! On Tuesday, April 26 at 8:30 am, the Parent Center is hosting a workshop titled, “Bullying, What Every Parent Should Know”. This will be presented by Ms. Phyllis Spadafora from the Parent and Community Engagement Unit, in the MPR at VALLEY ALTERNATIVE MAGNET SCHOOL, which is next door to DPMHS. You can meet with other DPMHS parents at 8:15 am at our school and walk over to Valley Alt together. I encourage all of you to attend this informative workshop! Light refreshments will be provided; childcare is not available.

Eleventh grade students will be taking the Smarter Balance Tests this week, so it is important for all 11th grade students to be well-rested and at school on time. Best wishes to the students who will be attending the RYLA conference this coming weekend! Looking ahead to next week, many students will be taking AP exams! We wish all of you the best as you prepare for your exams!

And last but not least, based on the US News and World Report School rankings, we have again proven that we are the best high school in the entire San Fernando Valley, even outperforming Granada Hills HS, El Camino HS, and Birmingham HS!
