Greeting DPMHS Community,

Our little school was in the spot light again last week!

Ms. Jackie Gorski, our music teacher, was invited to the Queen Latifah Show where she was honored for her work as a music teacher. Ms. Gorski was award a trip for 2 and accommodations for a week in New York City! This was a complete surprise for Ms. Gorski and kudos go to the small group of people who were great secret-keepers and didn’t let the cat out of the bag. The other honor came in the form of a letter from Dr John Deasy, LAUSD Superintendent, to Daniel Pearl Magnet High School, recognizing the success in continuing to raise the Graduation Rate. Please click here to read what Dr. Deasy wrote.

p.s. On May 15, the DPMHS PTSA elected a new Board for the 2014-15 school year and voted on $4,000 worth of purchases to benefit the school. A huge ‘thank you’ to the PTSA members and guests who attended this meeting.
