This year, our school will be participating in the Labels for Education® program. It will be coordinated by our Interact Club. Through the program we can collect UPCs and beverage/sauce caps from participating products to earn points that can be redeemed for FREE educational merchandise!

Our goal this year is to collect 10,000 points. It’s easy to help – simply save UPCs and beverage/sauce caps from participating products and drop them off at Daniel Pearl Magnet High School.

Students can receive points for their house by turning in labels and product caps to Mr. Schaffter and Mr. Cramer. Please include full name and house on envelope.

Pearl Preview 2013-12-01

• All families, students, and faculty are invited and encouraged to attend the SSC meeting at 5:30 on December 3rd. This is the meeting where decisions are made regarding our school.

• Wednesday is a meeting for parents at 8:15 am titled, “How to help your student with finals.” Parents will receive tips on how to help students do well on their fall finals which are quickly approaching.

• Be More Heroic is meeting on Thursday at lunch. Come by and see how you can help plan school wide events to help DPMHS remain a welcoming campus for all students.

• Authors Lissa Price and Elise Allen are visiting campus on Thursday. See Ms. Celi if you would like to meet them.

• This is the last week to add your thoughts to the Tree of Thanks in the middle hallway. Take a moment and write out what you are thankful for this year and put the leaf in the basket to be hung up. Everyone’s thanks are welcome!

• Tuesday night is an AP Informational Mtg from 5:30-6:15

• Sophmore Parent Night is Tuesday from 6:30- 7:15 pm

• Celebrate History Night at DPMHS on Tuesday from 6:00-7:30 pm.

• Any seniors interested in submitting designs for the senior class T-shirt must turn in the art work to Mr. Schaffter by Thursday Nov. 31. The seniors will vote on the submitted designs at lunch on Friday at the senior class meeting.

• Senior Class Meeting Friday at lunch.

• Arizona State University is visiting campus on Thurs. Sign up by the counseling office.

• Have a Blind Date with a book…stop in the library and pick up a book that is completely covered and a surprise to you. Read it and report back about your blind date experience!

• Leadership is holding a canned food drive. Please bring in canned goods to share with those who have so much less than most of us.

• The Jr. Class is selling pies!! Order one for your holiday family gathering or as a gift for someone special. You can order them now until Nov. 15 and then you pick them up in Sherman Oaks. Contact Mr. Hoeks to order one!
