Good Evening Sharks, this is Principal Smith with your Weekly Update. Today is the first day of Daylight Savings, so each of you should have set your clocks ahead by one hour before you went to bed last night.

Our very own Ms. Chavira will be on Channel 34 (Spanish-language Univision) on Monday morning between 6 and 7 am during their news program. Univision came to the school to do a story about her incredible impact on students! This is a well-deserved recognition! Congratulations Ms. Chavira for another additional moment of fame!

On Monday, March 14, the Math Department will be celebrating Pi Day at Nutrition! Stop by Courtyard 3 south to check out the festivities or participate in the fun! Also on Monday, Menchies Yogurt is helping us raise funds! Stop by the Encino location to buy your delicious fro-yo and tell them you are with Daniel Pearl Magnet HS.

10 Week Progress Reports will be mailed on Friday, March 18th. You can also be checking student grades in Jupiter.

Seniors: April 1st is the LAST DAY for Cap and Gown orders!
Juniors: Class shirts are now on sale for $18 in the Student Store!

Period 1 classes are collecting canned goods for 314 Cans for Hope. Please bring your canned food donations to school on Monday, and throughout the week before Spring Break.

Looking Ahead: Spring Break is Monday, March 21 - Friday, March 25th., and Cesar Chavez Day is Monday, March 28th. School resumes on Tuesday, March 29th. The next School Site Council Meeting will be on Thursday, March 31st at 5:30 pm in the library. This is an important meeting, as the SSC will be reviewing the budget allocations for the 2016-17 school year, and the SSC will be voting to approve the recommended budget expenditures. Please come, you are all welcome!
