Tutoring Hours: Mondays after school and by appointment
Ms. Hicks has been a Mathematics teacher at DPMHS since 2006. She currently teaches Algebra 1, AP Calculus AB, Leadership, and Computer Programming and has previously taught Algebra 2 and Honors Algebra 2.
Ms. Hicks also performs many other functions in our school community:
- Chair, School Site Council
- Coordinator, Gifted and Talented Education Program
- House Master, Hersey House
- Sponsor, Be More Heroic Club
- Adviser, Senior Class 2012
Ms. Hicks received a Masters degree in Electro-Acoustic Music from Dartmouth College and Bachelors degrees in Applied Mathematics and Music Performance from Chapman University. She holds a Mathematics credential.
In addition to her time at DPMHS, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, West Africa and a Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard.
Ms. Hicks was recognized as Intern of the Year 2007 in the LAUSD District Intern Program and was one of three faculty to receive the UCLA Center X Grant to explore ways to make connections in the classroom to Journalism.
