Weekly Update

Good evening Sharks, this is Principal Smith with your Weekly Update. Thank you to Mr. Morrison, Mr. Schaffter, Ms. Wynter, our fantastic parents and students for an amazing Comicon II! We had a wonderful turn-out, and it was clear everyone had a grand time!

Athletes: Please check the website, www.pearlmagnet.org for the tryout schedule! Some tryouts have already begun and some will take place over the summer.

DPMHS still has space for new students! Help us spread the word about our #1 school!

There are a few Prestige Yearbooks available for purchase in Room 22, with Ms. Chavira! Bring your cash or check for $75 today and don’t miss out on this fantastic memory of this school year!

Tuesday, May 23rd: Today is a regular day, with dismissal at 3:02pm. SBAC testing begins for all 11th grade students. Get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and be at your best performance to show off the amazing achievement of students at DPMHS!

Wednesday, May 24th: SBAC testing continues!

Thursday, May 25th: The Parent Center is hosting a workshop,”Reading Comprehension Strategies”, at 4:30pm - 5:30 pm, presented by our English Teacher Mr. Baer. The workshop will be held in the Library. At 5:30pm, the final School Site Council meeting will take place in the Library, and at 7:00pm, our Music Department is performing the Spring Concert! All are welcome and this is a free event!

Looking ahead: Monday, May 29th is Memorial Day, and there is no school.
Prom will be held at the Sportsman’s Lodge on Sunday, May 28th, 6pm - 11pm.
The David Labkovsky Art Exhibit, presented by Mr. Abelson’s 5th Period World History Class will take place on June 1st, at 6:30pm. All are welcome and this is a free event!

Seniors:
The Senior Breakfast will be held on Friday, June 9th, beginning at 7:00am. Graduation practice will begin promptly at 8:30am. All seniors will receive their Cap and Gown and guest tickets after rehearsal on Friday, June 9th. Each Senior will receive 6 tickets for guests. Seating will be first come, first serve for seat location, and there will be standing room for additional guests. Graduation is being held at Mulholland Middle School in the quad, and the entrance gate will be at the front of Mulholland.
