Good Evening Sharks, this is Principal Smith with your Weekly Update. Tomorrow is a school holiday for President’s Day. School reopens on Tuesday, Feb. 16th. Students were given their 5 week Progress Reports on Friday, Feb. 12th. Please review, sign, and return your Progress Report to school on Tuesday to your Period 1 teacher.

An extension has been given for the LAUSD School Parent Surveys to Friday, Feb. 19th. Please complete your survey and return it to school.

The Sadie Hawkins Dance tickets are still on sale, through Wednesday, February 17th, for $8. The dance is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 19th, from 6:30-9:30 pm. Post your dance proposal direct message to @dpmhsjuniors on Instagram The post with the most “likes” will get 2 free tickets.

On Wednesday, Feb. 17th, there is a fundraiser at Pizza Rev, from 11:00 am - 10:00 pm, at 5608 Van Nuys Blvd. Bring a flyer or mention DPMHS to help us “Raise Some Dough”!

On Friday, Principal Smith will be presenting “The School Report Card” in the Parent Center, at 8:15 am. All are welcome to learn more about our ratings. Also on Friday, Rooms 11 and 12, Ms. Hicks and Mr. Cramer, will be hosting another Math Contest! Make sure to sign up next week so you can join in the competition!

Looking ahead, on Tuesday, February 23rd, our LA Valley College Rep, Raul, will be here to help with completing FAFSA’s! The sign-up for appointments is outside Ms. Torres office.

“Get Lit”, spoken word performances, is hosting auditions for competitions on Feb. 25th, at lunch in room 14.

Are you a talented singer or play an instrument? Mr. Hambright will be holding auditions for a few selected students to perform at this year’s graduation. Auditions will be held on March 2 and March 9, from 2:15 - 6:30 pm in the MPR. If you are talented and interested in celebrating our seniors at graduation, sign-up on the front counter for an audition slot. All grade level students are welcome to try-out.
