Good Afternoon Parents, Guardians and Students, this is your weekly update from Daniel Pearl Magnet High School.

Yearbooks remain on sale and will be available through presales only. No yearbooks will be sold after they arrive on campus in the spring. Get yours ordered today, don’t be left out!

DPMHS Leadership held the annual fall American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, and it was a great success. Thank you to Leadership and all of those who participated!

This coming Thursday, a fundraiser will be held at the McDonald’s on the corner of Balboa Blvd and Vanowen street. This is to support the Journalism group going to Washington DC in November, all families are welcome to help us raise money to help our students!

During the week of October 13th, Journalism/Yearbook students will begin the World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser. Chocolate is not to be sold on campus during the school day, and students are encouraged to not go door to door, but rather sell to family and friends.

On Friday, October 17th, all Sharks are welcome to attend a fundraiser at the Northridge Skateland, from 8-11 pm; admission is $15 and this includes skates.

Looking ahead, starting the week of October 26th, Journalism/Yearbook students will be selling Popcornopolus products to offset their expenses for the DC trip. Again, this is not to be sold on campus during school hours, and caution is to be used when selling in the community.

That’s it for the weekly announcement!
