And this day is intended to get young people involved in the convention scene while challenging them and having fun, while making new friends.” -Stan Lee, 2017 Daniel Pearl Magnet High School (DPMHS) is proud to announce PEARL CON V, our the Fifth Annual Comic and Game Convention. Bring your family to enjoy comics, games, talks, silent auction, vendors, displays, food and so much more! A classic car show will be held from 9AM to 3PM in the parking lot with the awards announced at 2:30pm. You may find some characters to take pictures with milling around. All attendees are welcome to come dressed as well!. Admission is FREE and Parking will be available in the back. There will be special guests providing seminars and activities throughout the day. All proceeds benefit Daniel Pearl Magnet High School and will help us to build our upcoming digital art, media, game design, and animation programs, while continuing to support our award winning journalism and premiere music programs. Over the years, the school has had the support of the family of journalist Daniel Pearl, local businesses, top Disney artists, actors, and even Stan Lee!
Located at 6649 Balboa Blvd, Lake Balboa, CA 91406, DMPHS is the smallest and one of the highest-ranking High School in LAUSD, enhanced by the diverse campus that reflects the spectrum of ethnicities found in Southern California. The motto “A place to belong” is taken seriously on a campus where academics and embracing who you are come together to promote literature, journalism, photography, music and arts disciplines you don’t find at most schools.
