Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11th, is Veteran’s Day and there is no school. Classes resume on Wednesday, Nov. 12th. Thank you to all of our veteran’s who have served in the Armed Forces.
Students were given their 15 week progress reports on Friday, Nov. 7th, so all parents are encouraged to review them and sign the bottom, returning them to the Period 1 teacher.
Congratulations to The Pearl Post for your being named a Pacemaker Award finalist, and a shout-out goes to Natalie Moore, Chris Bower and Ana Perez for their individual accomplishments! We are all very proud of you! Another shout-out goes to Fairy Chotsett and we wish her the best of luck in this week’s Golf Championships!
This Thursday, the Gay Men’s Chorus will be here to perform and talk about acceptance and anti-bullying; selected classes have been invited to attend.
On Friday, author, Neal Shusterman, will be here to share his work and his process for writing award-winning novels! Copies of Undivided are still available for $17 and can be personally signed by Neal!
Ms. Zimring, our college counselor has just returned from her visit to Columbia College in Chicago, and has discovered many exciting programs at this small private college! This Saturday, Nov. 15th, there is a presentation about the college, and the specifics can be found by scrolling to the bottom of the page from the Los Angeles link, found on our website.
Looking ahead, History Day and College Awareness Night is November 18th, beginning at 5pm at school. Thanksgiving break begins on Monday Nov. 24th through Friday, November 28th, and school reopens on Monday, December 1st.
