Good Evening Sharks, this is Principal Smith with your weekly update. Thank you to Ms. Barajas for arranging a great parent workshop on earthquake preparedness titled, “Are You Ready” provided by the County of LA Firefighter-Paramedics.
On Tuesday, October 27th at lunch, the Houses will be hosting “Mix It Up” mixers in the Math and Science courtyards! Everyone is welcome to come Mix It Up and make new friends! On Wednesday, October 28th, Daniel Pearl Magnet High School hosts World Music Day to honor Daniel Pearl’s birthday month! If parents are interested in attending, please call the school to reserve seats. We have a limited number of seats available, so please call Monday, 818-654-3775.
The Cash for College field trip for seniors is also on Wednesday, and all participants must have signed field trip permission slips. Pink is the color of the day for this last Wednesday of October; show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness and wear pink! On Friday, October 30th, there will be a costume contest in the MPR at lunch. Remember, students are not allowed to wear masks or face coverings that conceal their identity and may not carry any type of weapons, including replica/toy weapons.
On Friday night, DPMHS is holding a dance in the MPR along with Valley Alternative Magnet HS. Attendees are limited to 10th – 12th grades and all must have a signed permission/contract on file. DPMHS will be hosting the snack bar as a fundraiser. Senior packages continue to be on sale in the Student Store and payment plans are available. The Innisbrook Gift Wrap fundraiser continues for the Senior Class. Ms. Zimring, College Counselor, will be out for an extended time, so please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions regarding college enrollment.
