Weekly Update

Good Evening Sharks, This is Principal Smith with your weekly update.

Daniel Pearl Magnet High School wishes a Happy New Year to all of our families celebrating the Jewish New Year! As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, September 14th.

Progress Reports will be coming home on Tuesday, September 15th and it is a shortened day. All students are expected to show their progress report to their Period 1 teacher with a parent signature for confirmation. Students should have brought home the parent and student Log-In credentials for our new Web-Based Grading Book, called Jupiter Grades. You can access the website at https://login.jupitered.com/login/. Jupiter will be reviewed at various times during Back to School Night for all parents who need assistance accessing their account. It is our hope that using Jupiter will allow parents and students to have greater access to student performance and timely information on assignments, both graded and missing.

On Wednesday, September 16th, some selected classes will be attending the annual Kadima Concert, provided to our school by the music program at CSUN. We appreciate their gift of performance for our students.

Thursday, September 17th is Back to School Night, beginning at 5:00 pm for specific meetings for our students identified as Gifted, English Language Learning, and Title I. At 5:30 pm, Back to School Night officially begins, and we hope you will all join us by starting at the Food Trucks for dinner and to support our Journalism program!

Looking ahead, Wednesday September 23rd, school will be closed.

Tardies continue to be a problem at DPMHS, with students arriving late for Period 1 classes. It is important for students to be in classes, ready for instruction by the 8:00 am bell. The school building is open every day between 7:00 and 7:30 am, and all students are encouraged to arrive at school on time.
