I hope you all remembered to set your clocks back 1 hour last night, I know I am grateful for the extra hour of sleep!
Thank you to the Interact Club for your service in making WAPI’s for people living in Africa where water is not safe to drink. WAPI”s allow the citizens to boil water and know when it is safe to drink by measuring the heat of the water.
Ms. Gorski has launched a Donor’s Choose project, Tone Chimes: Ding! Dong! Ding! Dong!, at donorschoose.org, to purchase chimes for her music program. If you make a donation by November 5th, a matching donation of up to $100 will be made, just enter SPARK on the payment page!
This Monday, author Neal Shusterman will be visiting DPMHS, and will be meeting with students in the Lunch Bunch Club!
On Tuesday and Wednesday, 11th and 12th grade students who need to pass the CAHSEE will be taking the exam, please encourage them to get plenty of rest and eat a healthy breakfast before leaving for school.
DPMHS will be represented at the national JEA/NSPA High School Journalism Convention this week in Washington, D.C., and are hoping to come back as winners of the prestigious Pacemaker Award! Good luck to Ms. Chavira and her amazing students!
On Friday, November 7th, students will be bringing home the 15 week progress reports, and this is the last progress report prior to final grades in December.
Also on Friday, there is a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen, at 18800 Ventura Blvd, Tarzana, near the corner of Wilbur Avenue and Ventura Blvd. Just mention DPMHS to have your order included in our fundraiser!
The Homecoming Dance will also be taking place at DPMHS in the MPR on Friday night, from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, and all students are welcome to attend!
Looking ahead, Tuesday, November 11th is Veteran’s Day, and there is no school. Classes are in session on Monday, November 10th, and reopen for the week on November 12th.
Our next School Site Council meeting will be held on Monday, November 17th, at 5:30 pm, and all are welcome to attend.
And finally, on November 18th, DPMHS will hold it’s annual History Night and College Awareness Night, starting at 5:00 pm.
