Mr. Schaffter has been a Science Teacher at DPMHS since 2001. He currently teaches Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Physics, and Honors Physics and has previously taught at Virgil Middle School.
Mr. Schaffter also performs many other functions in our school community:

- Sponsor, Anime and Gaming Club
- Sponsor, Board Game Club
Mr. Schaffter received a Master in Education (with a specialty in Educative Technology) from Walden University and a Bachelors in Physics from California State University Northridge. He holds a Physical Sciences credential and is a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers.
Prior to his teaching career, Mr. Schaffter worked at the Library at CSU Northridge, ran a bookstore for Goodwill Industries, and was the Engineering Manager at Micron Instruments in Simi Valley, California.
He was recognized as Teacher of the Year 2008-09 by the Encino Chamber of Commerce and was one of three faculty to receive the UCLA Center X TIIP Grant to explore the use of technology in the classroom.
